Student Transportation of America Staff Turns Bus into Ark for Santa Maria Parade

Santa Maria, CA – The staff at Student Transportation of America (STA) in Santa Maria, CA continue to bring holiday cheer in their community as they once again transformed a school bus into a float for the Christmas Parade of Lights. This year, a yellow school bus that normally transports children was outfitted to carry two of every animal, taking the form of Noah’s Ark.

STA has serviced the Santa Maria-Bonita school district since 1987 and has been a part of the Santa Maria Christmas Parade of Lights since 1988. The company is also one of the largest employers in the area, employing over 70 area residents.

“We are invested in the community,” says Paula Sauvadon, Vice President of Operations for STA. “Events like this are important to our staff because we have been servicing the area for so long. It is our way of giving back to a great community and a great partner”.

The float at the parade is not the only community event in which STA participates. Every year, the staff donates time to a vast amount of volunteer programs in the Santa Maria area. It also holds an annual holiday toy drive, a food drive, and a “Stuff the Bus” school supplies drive.
