Student Transportation expands Board of Directors
BARRIE, ON, Apr 15, 2010 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) — Student Transportation Inc. (TSX: STB) today announced the appointment of a new, independent director, Grace M. Palombo, senior vice president of human resources for Canwest Global Communications Corporation, to the Company’s Board of Directors effective immediately.
Grace Palombo is currently the senior vice president, human resources for Canwest Global Communications Corporation. She has been in this role since 2004 and is responsible for and ensures that the Company’s workforce, compensation and human resource programs are aligned with Canwest’s business strategy and values. Ms. Palombo works with the Human Resources Committee of Canwest’s Board. Prior to joining Canwest, Ms. Palombo held various executive positions in the areas of Human Resources, Legal, and Corporate Communications with Husky, Canada
Life Financial Services, Westcoast Energy/Union Gas and Bombardier
Aerospace. Ms. Palombo has a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and has also practiced law in Toronto, in the areas of employment and labour. Grace currently serves on the Osgoode Hall Law School Alumni Board and in the past served on the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine Board of Governors.
