Nationwide Tour Host Organization Helps Local Students go to College

Charleston, SC (May 24, 2011) — Twenty-five area high school seniors are now one step closer to their college dreams, thanks to the Student Transportation of America Education Foundation (STAEF). The Foundation, a key host organization for the season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island, recently announced that it has awarded cash scholarships of $1,000 each to students from nine high schools across the Greater Charleston Area. Recipients were selected based on merits of leadership and dedication to their communities, and who are choosing to attend a college or university in South Carolina. In recognition of these achievements, an awards luncheon will be held at the Daniel Island Club on June 10th for the recipients and their parents. Over the past two years, STAEF has raised over $200,000 and awarded nearly 100 scholarships in the communities it serves.

The Foundation is a public charity that focuses the experience of the company and the talents of more than 7,500 employees on local fundraising and advancing the educational opportunities available to the more than 500,000 students it safely transports daily.
