Student Transportation of America, a fast-growing school bus transportation provider, is proudly supporting Pamela Layral, the latest industry professional to earn the Special Needs Transportation Training Endorsement.

Layral, training supervisor at STA’s Riverside location, oversees four of the company’s school bus terminals and more than 300 of its drivers. She attended courses at the Transporting Students With Disabilities & Preschoolers conference recently.

“The conference itself was a great experience and the information gleaned, valuable for all of us in attendance,” Layral said. “It was refreshing to see people taking time out of their lives to teach us, and others to learn so we could all come together for the safety of the children we transport.”

The Special Needs Transportation training program has a core curriculum of six courses in a variety of settings, including a school bus “roadeo” and a trade show of school transportation products and services.

“The support that I’ve had from STA throughout the process of getting this certification has been wonderful,” Layral said, “and I hope that one day I, too, can help someone achieve the same.”
