Electrification

Alternative Fuels
Propane, biodiesel, and renewable fuels each offer unique advantages, and there is not a one-size-fits-all solution for every customer. While electric buses eliminate tailpipe emissions and provide the greatest overall emissions reductions, STA recognizes that other fuel options also offer environmental and operational benefits over diesel. We’re committed to progress and recognize that we cannot wait for full electrification to be ready in all situations – we continue to explore and implement sustainable fuel alternatives to meet the needs of our communities today.
Carbon Accounting
STA has developed an award-winning carbon accounting program that measures our greenhouse gas emissions and critical air particulate emissions from our fleet and operations. We also provide emissions forecasts, all in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards.
